Which Merchants are Eligible for the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program?

To qualify for the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program, merchants must meet specific criteria:

  1. Set the target country for your Google Merchant Center account to the United States.
  2. Have a Shopify Advanced or Plus subscription plan.
  3. Install the Google & YouTube app on your Shopify store.
  4. Connect a Google Merchant Center account to the Google & YouTube app.
  5. Cannot disconnect or change the account when your program is active.
  6. Use the automated product sync on the Google & YouTube app to sync your products to Google Merchant Center.
  7. Most third-party feed providers are currently not eligible for the program. For merchants using Feedonomics, please reach out to Feedonomics by completing this form to get instructions to join.
  8. Have conversion tracking and auto-tagging turned on for accurate conversion tracking.
  9. Set your store's currency to US dollars
  10. Have a US billing address.
  11. Do Not use Shopify's headless commerce solution, which allows merchants to use a non-Shopify frontend for your online store.
  12. Follow Google Merchant Center guidelines and provide true and accurate information about products and services.

How Your Shopify Store Can Join the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program

Joining the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program involves several straightforward steps:

  1. Download the Google & YouTube app from the Shopify store;
  2. In your Shopify account, navigate to the Google & YouTube section under “Sales Channels” in the left navigation panel, look for the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program card, and click “Get Started” to set it up;
  3. Set the default commission rate, which applies to all items shared with Google Merchant Center and all creators in the program;
  4. Set commission eligibility, including Pending Period (the duration for which purchase commissions remain pending, which can be changed between 30 and 50 days to match the return period, default 30 days, commissions will be reversed in the event of a return or cancellation) and Attribution Period (the window of time for sales to be attributed to the creator after clicking on a product label, set to 3 days);
  5. Adding billing information, currently accepting credit cards as a valid billing method, with more options to be added in the future;
  6. Accepting the terms and conditions of the loading process.
  7. If adding a new item, it may take a few days for the first approval to post non-paying item details, and 24 - 48 hours after approval to show up to tag YouTube creators.

Note: YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program cards are only displayed to eligible merchants.
